New Airbnb Update Adds Smart Lock Integration from August, Schlage and Yale without specifying the supported models. Hosts can randomly generate a code that is sent to guests to allow them to unlock the guesthouse door. The code is then deactivated upon exit and a new one is created for the next tenants. Hosts can also check the status of the connected lock and receive notifications in case of suspicious activity through this new feature.

This solution is much more practical than key boxes that require owners to be physically present to change the combination.

This automation allows owners to better manage rentals without getting lost in the codes to transmit to vacationers. Available in early access in the United States and Canada, other countries will be entitled to it in 2024.
