Philips Hue launches new indoor and outdoor lighting and expensive floodlight camera

Philips Hue has just launched its new collection of smart home devices, which includes not only indoor and outdoor smart lights but also a new floodlight camera, expanding the company’s growing home security camera offerings. Here’s a quick overview of each of the new devices, how much they’ll cost, and when they’ll be available.

Apply Dymera

The Dymera wall light is the company’s latest wall light, which can be installed inside or outside your home. It stands out for its rectangular shape that houses two individually controlled beams of light. These lights point up and down to project warm to cool whites and colors. This creates an atmospheric look that accentuates exterior wall textures or draws attention to backdrops such as landscaping or decor. You can get it for $219 when it launches on February 27th.

Philips Hue secure projector

The Philips Hue Secure Floodlight is a wired outdoor security camera to keep an eye on your garage or garden 24/7. Unlike most other floodlight cameras, the Philips Hue’s light color can change from white to color, so you can also use it as accent lighting in addition to a security system. The projector will be available on February 27th in the United States for the rather exorbitant price of $349.

The company is also proposing an update to the Security Center of the Philips Hue app in the first half of 2024, with improvements to push notifications and event timelines to strengthen the secure Floodlight experience. Additionally, Philips Hue is working on developing support for Amazon Alexa and Google Home for the updated secure system.

Philips Hue Perifo System

For those looking for even more customization, there’s a new track lighting option for the Philips Hue Perifo system with T-connectors, launching in April. You can shape the tracks to run in three different directions. There are also new flexible connectors that allow you to shape the tracks in any direction and beyond the standard 90-degree angles to creatively arrange ceiling lighting that can extend all the way to the wall. And if you have Philips Hue filament bulbs, you can use the new 3D printed cord to decorate them in style.

Philips Hue Go portable table lamp

Existing lighting lines, like the Philips Hue Go portable lamp, are also getting updates. This gadget will now be available with new teal or orange straps. Stays brilliant and lasts up to 48 hours on a single charge. Its wireless charging stand can fully recharge it in just four hours. Meanwhile, the Philips Hue Being ceiling lamp gains new black and white colors, in addition to the existing aluminum version.
