How to use the Apple Journal app on iPhone

A diary entry is an individual text that will be an integral part of your personal diary. It can contain your thoughts, emotions, reflections, gratitude and more. In the Apple app of the same name, in addition to texts, it is possible to add photos, videos, locations and audio recordings.

Here’s how to do it:
Start by launching the Journal. Then tap the “+” icon at the bottom of the screen. The first time, the app will ask if you want to turn on suggestions, which, as explained above, uses machine learning to suggest things to write or add. Press Turn on journaling suggestionsright away To allow if you want to activate this option. Otherwise, tap Not now. You can enable it later in your iPhone’s Settings app.

To create an entry and write whatever comes to mind, tap New entry at the top of the screen. If you prefer to use the suggestions, select the one you like most and then write what you want.

When you create an entry, it will automatically be set to the creation date. However, if you want to write about something that happened in the past or is expected to happen in the future, click on the three dots (…) next to the current date and choose Custom date. Then enter the event date, press Finishedand start writing.

Note that you can mark a journal entry and return to it to edit or delete it.
